What personal data do we collect?

This privacy notice tells you what to expect when The Lost Boys collects personal data. It applies to information we collect about:

  • people who contact us with an enquiry or booking, including when you contact us in writing, speak to us on the phone, by email or any other type of electronic communication or talk to us face to face.
  • people who sign up to our mailing list through our website or through sign ups at one of our shows, events or workshops.
  • people who attend a show, event or workshop through another venue and give permission for their personal data to be passed on to The Lost Boys (for the purpose of being added to our mailing list).

people who participate in publicity for The Lost Boys (for example, give permission to be photographed at a show).

What is personal data?

Personal data means any data that can be used to identify an individual (such as name and email address or address) and any information that relates to that individual from which they can be identified.

How do we use personal data?

We may need to use personal data for the following purposes:

  • booking, managing, administering and delivering our shows, events and workshops, including responding to information you have asked for
  • informing people about our shows, events and workshops
  • occasionally undertaking customer research (e.g. survey) to help us understand how we can improve our services or to understand our audiences better

We may also use anonymised data from third party venues to research our audiences (e.g. postcode, ticket type, analysis of attendance patterns).

Signing up for our mailing list. What information do we collect?

We collect a minimal amount of personal data from you when you join our mailing list. You will be asked to enter your name and email address. We will use this to keep you up to date with what The Lost Boys are getting up to, including future shows and events. You can opt-out at any point, using the unsubscribe link in each email, or by contacting us.

Photographic images. How will we use photographs that identify people?

Images of individuals are treated as personal data. Images of crowds in a public area are not. When taking photographs intended for publication on our website or elsewhere, it is our policy to seek the written permission of any individuals who are photographed. If you feature in an image or video we will have taken reasonable steps to seek your consent and/or to inform you. You can object to the use of an image or video that features you by emailing paul@thelostboys.org.uk

We will respond promptly to any request to remove photographic images from our marketing channels, where the person making such a request has a right to do so in accordance with their data protection rights.

Who has access to your information?

The Lost Boys Paul Broesmith and Ben Adwick, as well as our Marketing staff.

We will not share any personal details with any other third parties without your agreement, unless required in order to fulfil our contract with you, or allowed to by law.

We will not sell or rent your information to third parties. We will not share your information with third parties, including the venues we visit, for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

How long do we keep personal data?

We keep and dispose of all records in line with our record retention schedule. We will comply with the Data Protection Act 2018.

We will retain personal data for mailing list subscribers only until consent is withdrawn via the unsubscribe functionality or by request.

Photographs of audience members or attendees or events and workshops who give permission for their image to be used in marketing materials will be used for a three year period and then deleted.

We will conduct an annual review of those whose data we retain to provide a contract or service. Data will be kept for as long as the contract is in force or services are provided and deleted annually should we no longer be providing our services.

How do we keep your information secure?

We will take appropriate steps to make sure we hold records about you in a secure way. All employees who have access to your personal data or are associated with the handling of that data are obliged to respect the confidentiality of your personal data and be fully informed of GDPR compliance regulations.
