Join the Lost Boys this Christmas as they return to Sudbury with a bespoke production...
Theatre favourites, the Lost Boys, return this Christmas with a unique show, created especially for Sudbury. What lies ahead is an epic quest to compete, win and ultimately save your own lives as you venture into the realms of family favourite board games, meeting a host of weird and wonderful creatures along the way. Be prepared to guess who went for broke in a game of life, in this comedy adventure. An interactive promenade performance suitable for all the family.
The show will take place over the ground floor and second floor in hall, so unfortunately not all areas are wheelchair or buggy accessible. Please note, no heels are allowed in the hall and it may be cold so please dress appropriately in warm clothing.
This event includes breakfast. Visitors can choose from a hot bacon or sausage bap and tea, coffee or orange juice. Please email sudburyhall@nationaltrust.org.uk if you have any dietary requirements.
Looking Back
One of two commissions for Christmas 2019, this one had a lot riding on it, as the commissioning venue, Sudbury Hall, were planning on a house takeover for the whole of December, by transforming the venue into a board game and family game-themed house. The Lost Boys were tasked with creating a new, original show to sit alongside it. We were asked due to our 5 year success with A Christmas Carol.
We decided that, like that show, this one would also be a promenade so the audience could experience several of the newly-themed rooms in a different way. In our experience, one of the best ways to run a promenade is a classic quest story. So we created a fictional world where the kingdom of Compendia (a world of games) was under threat from the neighbouring kingdom of Boredom and their evil Duke. A twist on a vintage fairy tale structure and we were cooking. We had great fun coming up with new ways to play with and use the established games of cluedo, snakes and ladders, creationary and more. The show was a huge success and will be back in 2020 for another run.
